World Prematurity Day: Chiesi is at the forefront for preterm babies

Date: 17/11/2020

November 17th it’s the World Prematurity Day (WPD). The WPD aims at raising awareness of the challenges of preterm birth globally, one of the largest cause of perinatal and neonatal mortality and morbidity in children (source: World Health Organization). Without an appropriate treatment, the babies surviving often face lifelong disability and poor quality of life.

Chiesi is the one of the largest partners in neonatology, providing special care to reduce severe cause of prematurity as well as sponsoring continuous medical education for HCPs and support programs for families.

We are really proud of the work we do every day, that is why, for this special year, we engaged our colleagues to make their contribution for this important cause. We asked them to take a selfie with a special branded mask cover: for each photo collected Chiesi donates 1 knitted octopus for a preterm baby to neonatal intensive care units and one tree to be planted in the green areas of our main offices in Parma, part of the Kilometro Verde initiative.
