Chiesi is an Italian multinational group operating in the sector of research, development, Manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceutical products. The Chiesi story was started by Giacomo Chiesi, a chemist with an enthusiasm for research in a small-scale laboratory with two employees only.
Today, Chiesi with its prime focus on Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Neonatology and Rare diseases has become an international reality in the pharmaceutical market with global operations consisting of 29 direct affiliates and over 4,800 employees worldwide.
The operational sites of the company include the AIFA approved production plant in Parma Italy, Blois in France and Santana de Parnaiba in Brazil in addition to the research centres in Italy, France & UK.
In Europe Chiesi has affiliates in Italy, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Greece, Austria, Netherland, Belgium, Poland and Germany. In addition to Europe, Chiesi is present in USA, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, CEEC, Turkey, China and Pakistan. In addition to its direct presence in above markets, Chiesi Group operates in several countries worldwide through license and distribution agreements with external partners.
With a turnover of more than €1,571 million sales we are among the top 50 pharmaceuticals companies in the world. Our production sites are in Parma, (Italy), Blois (France) and Santana De Parnaiba (Brazil)
In the medium term, Chiesi plans to further develop its international presence by consolidating the existing subsidiaries as well as by entering new markets, either through partnerships or direct presence along two axes:
